IAA is lead by four officers: President, Vice-President, Vice-President of Training, and Student Advisor (non-voting). In addition, the Secretary-General of the high school conference, VIKMUN, is a temporary officer during their term of office, as are the head delegates for each of the travelling conferences.

President: Jason Clopper

This will be Jason’s second year of participating in Model United Nations and his senior year at WWU majoring in Political Science. During the 2008-2009 academic year, he attended three conferences: UBCMUN, NMUN and WMUN. At UBCMUN he won an award as Belgium on UNCTAD and WMUN as the United States on GA Plenary. In addition he served as the Head Delegate for WWU at NMUN and helped the team win an Honorable Mention as Romania.
Vice-President: Sarah Worley

Sarah will be participating in her second year of Model United Nations as Vice-President for WWU’s program. She is a senior majoring in Political Science & Spanish. During the 2007-2008 academic year, Sarah participated in four conferences: NWMUN, UBCMUN, NMUN, and WMUN. Sarah was an important part of the award winning team that won at NMUN as Romania. At NWMUN 2009 this coming fall, Sarah will be on staff as a member of Conference Services.
Vice-President of Training: Whitney Thompson

The 2008-2009 year will be Whitney’s eighth year of participation in Model United Nations overall, and fourth at WWU. Whitney is a senior double-majoring in Psychological and Spiritual Empowerment (Human Development, Self-Expression, and Therapeutic Healing) and Linguistics with a minor in Women’s Studies. Previously, Whitney served as Vice-President of Internal Affairs during the 2006-2007 school year and was the Secretary-General of VIKMUN 2008. Whitney has attended 8 conferences at WWU: UBCMUN 2006, NMUN 2006, CCMUN 2006, UBCMUN 2007, SUMUN 2007, NMUN 2007, UBCMUN 2008, and NMUN 2008. In addition, Whitney was Director of Logistics at WMUN 2006, Chair of GA Plenary at WMUN 2008, and was chosen to be the Rapporteur of UNEP at NMUN 2008. At NWMUN 2008, Whitney will be serving as Director of UN Human Rights Council.
Student Advisor: Sasha Sleiman

This will be Sasha’s fourth year of participation in Model United Nations. She is a senior majoring in Political Science & Journalism. Sasha has attended 6 conferences as a delegate for WWU: UBCMUN 2006, CCMUNC 2006, NMUN 2007, NWMUN 2007, UBCMUN 2008, and NMUN 2008. In addition she has served as a member of the Crisis Department for CIMUN 2007, and Chair of ECOSOC at OSUMUN 2008. In the coming year, besides her role as Student Advisor, Sasha is the Assistant-Secretary General of Conference Services for NWMUN 2008, Political Officer for GA Plenary at CIMUN 2008, and Assistant-Director of ECOSOC at NMUN 2009.
